Today (the “App”) provides weather, climate, sunrise, sunset, and moon information for locations you choose. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Replace the bracketed contact information below before publishing this policy.
## Information the App accesses
### Location information
If you choose to use your current location, the App asks iOS for permission to access your location while you use the App. The App uses latitude and longitude to:
- identify the city or area associated with your location;
- request weather forecasts and historical weather information; and
- identify nearby climate stations.
Location access is optional. You can instead search for and save a city manually. You can change or revoke the App’s location permission at any time in **Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services** on your device.
### Saved cities and cached app data
The App stores your saved cities, preferences, and cached weather information locally on your device. This information is shared between the App and its included widget using an Apple App Group so that the widget can display the same information as the App.
This locally stored information is not sent to the developer. You can remove saved cities within the App. You can remove the App’s locally stored data by deleting the App from your device. iOS may also remove cached information as part of normal system storage management.
## Information sent to service providers
To provide its features, the App sends location coordinates and request details over encrypted HTTPS connections to the following service providers:
- **Open-Meteo** provides current forecasts and historical weather information. Open-Meteo may receive the requested latitude and longitude, dates, time zone, and technical connection information such as an IP address. Its terms and privacy information are available at <https://open-meteo.com/en/terms>.
- **Applied Climate Information System (ACIS)**, operated through Regional Climate Centers, provides climate-station data and historical weather records. ACIS may receive location coordinates, station identifiers, dates, and technical connection information. More information is available at <https://www.rcc-acis.org/>.
- **Apple** provides Location Services and reverse geocoding, which convert device coordinates into a city or place name. Apple’s privacy policy is available at <https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/>.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. The developer does not control their independent logging or retention practices.
## How information is used
Information accessed by the App is used only to:
- provide weather, climate, astronomical, and widget features;
- remember the cities you select;
- improve reliability through local caching; and
- respond to support or legal requests if you contact the developer.
The App does not use your information for advertising, cross-app tracking, data brokerage, or creating a user profile. The App does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
## Data retention
The developer does not operate an account system or server that stores your saved cities or precise location. App data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, delete the App, or iOS removes cached data. Third-party service providers may retain request or technical information according to their own policies.
If you contact the developer for support, the developer may retain your message and contact information as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
## Data security
The App uses HTTPS when communicating with weather and climate services. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, but the App is designed to limit access and transmission to information needed for its features.
## Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact the developer so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
## Your choices and requests
You may:
- deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings;
- use manually selected cities instead of your current location;
- remove saved cities in the App; and
- delete the App to remove its locally stored data.
Because the developer does not maintain user accounts or a developer-operated database of App location data, the developer generally has no server-side location record to access or delete. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you provided directly in a support message, contact the developer below.
## Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App’s features or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted at the same URL with a revised effective date.
